Prologo.
(Darry,smettila ho vinto io la scommessa, e quindi incomincio io!)
Ciao a te straniero!Se hai scelto di leggere questo racconto allora...devo informarti che ti sei messo veramente nei guai.
Qui accanto a me c'è il mio noiosissimo,secchione ,perfettino fratello Darryl-ossia un rompiscatole nato-.I nostri discorsi li trovi nelle parentesi!
Io mi chiamo Alexandra,anche se poi tutti abbreviano il mio nome con Alex.
Comunque sia,stavo raccontando? Ah si! Ti stavo dicendo che ti sei cacciato veramente nei guai se hai scelto di leggere questo libro.(No Darryl, non lo sto scioccando sta tranquillo!)
Questa non è una storia per chi non ama il mistero,l'avventura,lo spionaggio e la magia.
Se sei interessato a un'altro libro meno impegnativo puoi sempre scegliere la saga dei vampiri di...come cavolo si chiama? (Si Darryl, stavo per dirlo anche io! Twilight).Ma comunque sia,so che alla fine sceglierai di dare una sbirciatina a questo racconto.(No Darryl,non ho la sfera di cristallo!)
Questo racconto haimè è raccontato a due voci la mia e quella di mio fratello -Consiglio vivamente di leggere la mia! - (Stai tranquillo Darryl, non sto parlando male di te!)

I nostri guai sono iniziati proprio due anni fa...

Capitolo 1
Fuggiamo da New York...e ci perdiamo il Natale.

Sono felice che mia sorella Alex si sia finalmente decisa di lasciarmi parlare. Prima di tutto...io non sono un rompiscatole.(E' inutile che insisti tanto,io non sono come mi hai brevemente descritto).
Mi chiamo Darryl e ho avuto la sfortuna di essere fratello di Alexandra.
I nostri genitori si sono separati quando io avevo sette anni e Alex cinque,anche se non ho mai capito il perchè;ma nonostante tutto la nostra famiglia si riunisce per il giorno di Natale a casa di mia sorella.(Cosa vuoi che ne sappia,è la mamma che non vuole mai farlo a casa di papà!)
Mamma e papà lavorano assieme come giornalisti per il Times di New York,così spesso e volentieri io devo badare a mia sorella.(smettila di dire che sei indipendente,giochi ancora con l'orsetto di peluches!)
Quella mattina di dicembre -esattamente il 25/12/15- mi ero alzato di soprassalto.Il mio gatto,Mr.Miao aveva incominciato ad affilare le sue unghie sui miei piedi.
-Stupido gatto!Mi stai lacerando i piedi!-gli urlai contro rabbioso e dolorante (no Alex, non stavo piangendo!)
Osservai un pò il panorama dalla mia finestra.Stava nevicando alla grande, e questo significava solo una cosa : quando sarei arrivato dalla mamma,Alex avrebbe incominciato a inondarmi con gigantesche palle di neve.
Mi vestì velocemente indossando un abbigliamento comodo e allo stesso tempo caldo.
Papà mi stava asp...

the call

Tess was sitting on the couch in her office. Between her hands clutching yet another bank facilities letter.
This situation could not goes on and on, absolutely had to do something.
The Burlesque Lounge had always been everything in her life, and she could not give up just now.

Marcus Gaber was trying to bargain with the woman, who was examining the mean territorial contracts .

capitolo 1
La chiamata

Tess stava seduta sul divano,nel suo ufficio. Tra le mani stringeva l'ennesima lettera della banca.
Questa situazione non poteva andare ancora avanti,doveva assolutamente fare qualcosa.
Il burlesque Lounge aveva sempre rappresentato tutto nella sua vita, e non poteva arrendersi proprio ora.
Erano tutti e tre nell'ufficio della proprietaria del locale notturno.
-Accetta questa proposta Tess...è la tua unica salvezza.-
Marcus Gaber stava cercando di contrattare con la donna,che intendi stava esaminando i contratti territoriali.
-Scusa tanto ...e...e dove sarebbe la società? Vince tu avevi parlato di fare una società!-esclamò la donna posando le carte sulla scrivania.
L'ex marito,guardò Gaber di traverso.
-Che ne diresti di fare una società?-
L'imprenditore, tuttavia rimase fermo nelle sue idee.
-Ci aggiungo sopra un milione. Mezzo a testa!-
L'offerta si stava facendo davvero molto interessante. Marcus sperava che in questo modo la donna accettasse l'offerta davvero prestigiosa.
-Tess, ragiona un secondo...sono davvero molti soldi. Sai che cosa potresti farci con quei soldi?-
La donna lo fulminò
-Sai che cosa potresti farci tu,con quei soldi Vince?-
-Non ora Tess...-
-E allora sta zitto e non rompere.-
Marcus si permise di interrompere i due.
-Comunque stiano le cose, io so solo che voi due ,siete nei guai fino al collo.-si fermò un secondo- pensaci Tess...Ho saputo che avete anche da pagare quella tassa di fine mese.-
Tess spalancò gli occhi,furiosa. Guardò il l'ex marito con ira.
-Gli hai anche detto del mio tatuaggio sul culo per caso?-
Vince la guardò con innocenza.
-Assolutamente no! Per chi mi hai preso ? Per uno stupido?-
Calò il silenzio. Tess dette un'ultima occhiata alle carte sulla scrivania.
-Scusami tanto Marcus non che me ne freghi qualcosa....ma come mai sei così interessato al mio locale?-
la sua ironia,fu accolta in modo molto piacevole da Gaber, che decise di risponderle allo stesso modo.
-beh...sai fin da quando ero bambino,ho sempre ottenuto quello che volevo...-
-Dovevi essere pieno di amichette al parco giochi da bambino!- rispose lei in modo molto sarcastico.
-Ti sto solo chiedendo di accettare la mia offerta.-
Vince guardò la donna sperando al meglio.
-No!-concluse la proprietaria del locale.
-Lei intende non ora...-cercò di correggerla l'ex marito.
-Oh no! Non ora vuol dire non ora; No vuol dire no!- questa volta si era spiegata davvero molto bene-Mi dispiace Marcus,ma il mio locale non è in vendita.-
Marcus annuì a malincuore.
-Beh...sappi,che se avessi dei ripensamenti, la mia offerta è sempre valida Tess.
L'uomo d'affari si diresse verso la porta di uscita.
-Ah...dimenticavo Tess...-disse ce...
