Mamma e papà ci regalano una vacanza inaspettata.
Mio fratello ha sempre il brutto vizio di ingrandire le cose, ancora di più di quello che sono. Non so che cosa gli sia saltato in mente,ma non gioco e nemmeno parlo con il mio pupazzo di peluches.
(No Darryl, è inutile con mi prendi in giro, non è vero nulla!)
Il fatto che lui ormai abbia sedici anni e io quattordici gli fa credere di essere lui l'uomo e io la "bambina".Quanto è stupido mio fratello!
Ebbene si! Eravamo proprio nei casini.Mamma non mi aveva spiegato un gran chè,ma avevo intuito che il lavoro non centrava proprio nulla con quello che stava succedendo.
(Non ci posso fare nulla Darryl,se sono più sveglia di te!)
Il fatto che mamma mi avesse ordinato di portare con me anche Chocolat-il mio cane-mi aveva davvero incuriosito.Di norma quando andavo via per due o più giorni lasciavo Chocolat dalla vicina di casa ormai novantenne,la signorina Olga Strauss-una inglesotta che non ci sentiva più da un orecchio e sputava ovunque quando parlava-. Fare le valige fu un attimo! Sono un tipo sbrigativo, e quindi penso sempre al minimo indispensabile! (Lo so...anche in questo ti ho battuto!)
A dire il vero l'unica cosa che portai di superfluo furono alcuni cd e il maxi poster della mia cantante prefertita:Cherilyn Sarkisian LaPierre -ma questa è un'altra storia-.
Quando arrivammo in macchina, mamma incomincò a guidare come una matta. Ce la misi proprio tutta per non dare di stomaco,-non mi ero nemmeno messa la cintura di sicurezza-ma le frenate violente nel mezzo del traffico di New York non sono un tocca sana.
Fortunatamente non avevo fatto colazione,e sempre per fortuna Chocolat non si era ancora rimpinzato di bocconcini di manzo.Mamma aveva fatto davvero presto a fare i bagagli -sempre ammesso che li avesse fatti-. La lentezza nel farli è una cosa che...haimè ha fatto ereditare anche a mio fratello Darryl
(La smetto quando mi pare! Zitto!).
In nemmeno dieci minuti arrivammo all'areoporto di New York,che però era deserto.
la prima cosa che pensai fu: Che diamine ci facciamo qui? Sta per arrivare una tempesta di neve, e non ho alcune intenzione di tirare le quoia in questo modo.
Comuque quando vidi arrivare Chris con Darryl e Mr Miao gli andai incontro.Volevo abbracciare Darryl perchè era tanto che non lo vedevo, ma lui mi schivò,e così finì a gambe all'aria dentro un cumolo di neve. Ah...l'orgoglio maschile è una cosa terribile.(Smettila di dire che non è vero...sei sempre te quello più malizioso!)
Chris e Jenny ci chiamarono con insistenza. Mr Miao e Chocolat invece rimasero in disparte a guardarsi male.
-Dimmi Chris che cosa c'è?-chiese Darryl arrivato per primo vicino a loro.
Dopo poco giunsi anche io ,ripulendomi tutta,dalla neve.
-Ragazzi.-disse mia madre con tono serio.-E' ora che andiate...Tra poco questo aereo vi porterà fino a casa di una pers...
